ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will be making its fourth overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Lions will travel to Middlebury, Vermont to face Elizabethtown on Thursday at 12 p.m. in first-round regional action.

The Lions (15-8) earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's (AMCC) automatic bid into the 49-team tournament after winning their 13th conference title with a 5-4 win over Pitt-Greensburg.

The Blue Jays (15-3) are making their seventh consecutive trip to the national tournament and second in a row as the automatic qualifier out of the Landmark Conference. Elizabethtown defeated Juniata, 5-4, last Saturday to successfully defend its league championship.

Behrend will battle against Elizabethtown for the first time in program history. The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first three rounds played at Middlebury. The winner of Thursday's first-round match will take on Johns Hopkins in round two.
