Women's Soccer Announces Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team announced their team awards for the 2015 season. The Lions won the Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship for the fifth year in a row before falling to Center College in the NCAA first round 3-1.

Olivia Belack (Upper St Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) was named the team's Most Valuable Player. Belack finished second on the team with 30 points, scoring 11 goals and adding eight assists. She netted a hat-trick in the AMCC final against Pitt-Bradford, including the game-winner in overtime for the second straight year.

Earning the team's Most Improved Award was Amber Nolf (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic). She saw action in 13 games during her freshman campaign, making one start. Her lone start came on the biggest stage of the season, the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Laura Schaefer (Erie, PA/General McLane) was named the team's Rookie of the Year. Schaefer started in 14 of her 21 appearances as an integral part of the midfield. She tallied five goals and two assists in her first year in a Behrend uniform.

Sophomore Katie Powers (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) was awarded the Scholarship/Leadership award. Powers saw action in 14 games this season and notched one assist.
