Baseball Explodes for 29 Runs in Northwestern Win

FORT PIERCE, Fl. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team cruised to a 29-2 win over Northwestern (Minn.) on day three in Fort Pierce, Florida Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles (2-5) were coming off a 15-inning game the night before, and with the wind blowing in the batter's favor, the Lions (3-1) took advantage and exploded for 29 runs.

Freshman Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) continued to stay hot in his collegiate debut week. He went a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored.

Alex Margraf (Erie, PA/McDowell) hit a .750 clip, going 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. Zach Murray (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) followed Margraf with a 2-for-3 outing and a walk. He scored three times and added an RBI.

Corey Bowers (Westlake, OH/Westlake) and Justin Foreman (Oakdale, PA/South Fayette) each homered in the contest. Bowers was 1-for-1 with that solo home run and walked twice. Foreman's dinger was the first of his collegiate career and the pair scored three and two times respectively.

Justin Rohrer (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin) picked up the win in 5.2 innings of work. He struck out five and dished a walk. Brady Kress (Zelienople, PA/Seneca Valley) tossed a scoreless 1.2 innings in relief.

Behrend is back in action tomorrow against Bridgewater State. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
