Women's Track and Field Kicks Season Off

EDINBORO, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team started the season on Saturday at the Edinboro Invitational.

The 4 x 800m relay team started the year off strong.  The team of Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven), Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton), and Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) came in third place with a time of 10:43.64.

Katie Monoskey (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) continued to build on her success from a year ago.  The senior thrower came in seventh place in the weight throw with a distance of 11.81m. 

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday at the Youngstown State Invitational.  Start time is set for 3 p.m.
