The Behrend Lions opened its invitational tournament with a 3-1 win over Bethany. The set scores were 25-12, 22-25, 25-19, and 25-17.

With Behrend leading two sets to one, the Bison held an 11-10 advantage in the fourth match as Lauren Dalton (Cochranton/Cochranton) stepped up to serve. The blue and white then rallied for seven straight points as Dalton closed out the match by registering three additional points in the 25-17 win.

Dalton finished with a team-high 16 kills to go along with five aces. Senior middle hitter Shelia Ogden (Grove City/Grove City) added eight kills and three blocks. Also contributing was Stefanie Kelley (Moon Township, PA/Moon) with 16 digs and seven kills, while Danielle Woods (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) chipped in with 13 digs. Senior setter Brooke Gallentine (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Southmoreland) registered 38 assists.

Behrend evened its mark at 3-3 and will play Lycoming at 7:30 p.m. in the Junker Center later this evening.
