Penn State Behrend's Woods Passes 1,000 Digs Milestone

Penn State Behrend junior outside hitter Danielle Woods (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) passed the 1,000 digs career milestone after racking up 21 digs on Tuesday, October 13 in Behrend's 3-0 win over D'Youville. 

Woods now has 1,005 digs in her career and becomes the twelfth player in Behrend Lions program history to reach 1,000 digs for her career.  In addition to her digs total, Woods is also climbing in the record books in service aces.  Woods has 128 for her career, ranking tenth all-time at Penn State Behrend.

Head Coach Phil Pisano said, "Danielle has really improved her versatility in the backrow. She can play any spot comfortably and has developed a very strong presence on the court.  She's a terrific athlete, is reading plays exceptionally well, and we believe she has many more great performances yet to come."

Woods currently leads Behrend with 243 digs on the season, an average of 4.34 digs per set.  As of the latest AMCC statistical leaders update, she ranked fifth in the conference in digs per set.

The Behrend Lions (15-6, 5-1) have won seven of their last eight matches and will next battle against AMCC opponent Mt. Aloysius on Saturday, October 17.  Match time is set for 1:00 p.m. in the Junker Center.
