ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend volleyball team received its third straight bid to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Tournament and will travel to No. 1 St. Vincent on Wednesday for first-round action at 7 p.m.
The Lions, who earned the eighth seed with a 19-11 overall record, will battle the Bearcats for the second-straight year in the ECAC first round. It marks is the fourth time in five years Behrend will compete in the ECAC postseason. The Lions won the ECAC South Region Title in 2008.
Behrend advanced to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals, but fell to Penn State Altoona, 3-0. St. Vincent (22-11) made it to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) semifinals and was defeated by the eventual PAC champion Thomas More.
The winners of Wednesday's first round will meet in Saturday's semifinal round at the highest remaining seed.
