ERIE, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team scored 37 points off turnovers while the bench contributed 30 points en route to a 70-21 victory over Hilbert in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday night.

Julia Myers (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) posted her team-leading third double-double with 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, pulling down 13 boards in the first half alone to reset her best effort on the glass.

Brittany Wilwohl (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) led the Lions (6-1, 3-0 AMCC) with 14 points, her fifth double-digit scoring game this season.

The Hawks (0-8, 0-2 AMCC) shot 9-for-48 from the floor, only able to convert two field goals in the opening half for six points. Julie Bossard went 4-for-6 for a team-best eight points.

Behrend held a 21-point lead after the first half and outscored Hilbert 45-15 in the second stanza for the lopsided win, marking the Lions third straight conference victory.

Behind Myer's rebounding effort, the Lions were able to go on a 13-0 run in the final 10 minutes and then take a double-digit lead with 5:24 remaining in the first half.

Behrend held the Hawks without a field goal for over nine minutes, 43 seconds that carried over into the beginning of the second half when Bossard drove in for the layup at the 19:30 mark.

The lead grew to 40-10 after an Aly Eagle (Harmony, PA/Seneca Valley) triple with the Lions capturing their largest advantage on a last jumper by Sarah Schweitzer (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) in the final minute.

Emily Detsch (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic) and Schweitzer had season-best performances with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Pol finished with eight points, five steals, three assists and one block.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday against the AMCC defending champions La Roche. Game time is 4 p.m.
