BRADFORD, Pa. – Brianna Bayly (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny) shot 6-for-9 from the field, draining three from behind the arc for a career-high 18 points to lead Penn State Behrend past Pitt-Bradford 74-54 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) women's basketball action on Wednesday.

Brittany Wilwohl (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) was close behind Bayly with 17 points and Holly Bourquin (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) contributed 13 points and seven rebounds to give the Lions (17-4, 13-3) their 13th conference victory.

The Panthers (9-13, 7-8 AMCC) got a game-high 18 points from Maria Costanza with another 12 by Ashley Seidenstricker.

It took less than two minutes for Behrend to take a 12-0 opening lead. Bayly nailed back-to-back triples for the early advantage, but Pitt-Bradford scored the last five points of the half to cut the deficit to eight (32-24).

The Panthers tallied the first two field goals of the second half to score 10 unanswered points to make it 32-29. Wilwohl stopped the run with a jumper, before Bourquin netted four points to keep the Lions lead.

With 12:18 remaining, Emily Detsch (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic) drove in for the layup that gave Behrend the double-digit lead for good. The Lions shot 52.8 percent in the second stanza and finished the game on a 9-2 run.

The Lions are back in action on Saturday in their last regular-season road game at Franciscan. Game time is 3 p.m.
