Bourquin Nets Game High; Lions Dominate Pitt-Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Holly Bourquin scored a game-high 23 points in just 19 minutes of work to lead Penn State Behrend women's basketball past Pitt-Greensburg 73-36 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Bourquin shot 8-for-13 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line, while Brittany Wilwohl added 21 to help the Lions collect their fifth conference win.

For the third straight game, Behrend has forced their opponent to 25 or more turnovers and this afternoon the Lions held a 46-26 advantage on the boards for the victory.

The statement was made from the beginning with an opening 9-0 run behind six points from Wilwohl. Bourquin poured in the next six points for the double-digit lead at 15-3.

The Lions only surrendered 12 points in the first half, finishing on a 21-9 run for the commanding lead.

All except two Behrend players scored, with the lead growing to a 32-point advantage. The Lions used an 8-0 spurt to close out the game.

Julia Myers contributed 12 points and six assists.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow against Mt. Aloysius. Game time is 3 p.m.
