BUFFALO, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team earned their eighth win of the season, posting an 83-64 over D'Youville in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday night.

The Lions (8-2, 4-1 AMCC) had three players in double figures led by Holly Bourquin (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and her game-high 19 points. Brittany Wilwohl (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) added 17 points, four assists and four steals.  Emily Detsch (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic) dropped 11 points in the win.

Kaitlyn Roland was the leading scorer for the Spartans (2-9, 1-3 AMCC) with 16 points, while Hannah Norton went 6-for-7 from the floor for 13 points and eight rebounds.

As a team, Behrend shot 17-for-25 from the charity stripe and tallied a season-best eight three pointers for its fourth conference win and second straight victory.

Even though the Lions never trailed in the first half, D'Youville managed to cut the double-digit lead to one point in the final 30 seconds of the stanza. Behrend held a 12-point lead midway through the half, but Roland netted seven straight points in less than a minute to get within 37-36. Ally Burke (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) knocked in a pair of free throws to end the half with a three-point edge.

After Norton gave the Spartans their first lead at the 17:20 mark of the second half, Behrend went on a 14-2 run to take a 56-45 advantage.

D'Youville held the Lions scoreless for three minutes to pull within one point at 56-55 with 10:31 to play. Behrend regained control and outscored the Spartans 11-4 in the final five minutes. In the second half alone, the Lions scored 18 points off turnovers.

Behrend is back in action on Saturday at Pitt-Greensburg. Game time is at 4 p.m.
